Why Choose an ASHI Inspector?
ASHI Inspectors are the most highly trained, experienced, trusted, and qualified. Because of these merits, they are the best inspectors the world has to offer.
Why are they the best? In order to become an ASHI Inspector, one must pass the rigorous National Home Inspector Examination which is 4 hours long and has 200 questions about all aspects of a home's structural, roofing, electrical, heating and cooling, exterior and interior, and plumbing systems. Before inspectors are allowed to call themselves "Certified" by ASHI, they must have conducted over 250 professional inspections. No other professional home inspector society in the world can match the credentials of an ASHI Inspector. ASHI Inspectors can be trusted to objectively analyze the home's major working systems and components so that you, the home buyer, can make a sound decision about completing your home purchase.
Having your home checked by an ASHI Inspector will give you the peace of mind to know that your home purchase won't have any negative surprises after you move in. After your inspection is finished, you will know all the pluses and minuses about your future home. Finally, ASHI Inspectors are continually updating their knowledge of home inspecting by taking Continuing Education courses every year. These courses teach the latest inspection techniques and keep the inspector up-to-date in the growing and ever changing field of home inspecting and home construction.
What is the American Society of Home Inspectors?
ASHI is the oldest and most respected Home Inspector Society in the world. Its current membership has 3,730 Certified Inspectors who have met all the requirements: National Inspector Exam passed and performed 250 professional inspections. ASHI also has 2,063 Associate members who have not yet achieved these difficult requirements to be called Certified. ASHI was founded in 1976 and since then, has worked to build up buyer awareness of the importance of getting their future home inspected before buying.
ASHI strives to build customer awareness of the importance of a quality and informative home inspection, while at the same time improving and increasing the professionalism and technical education of it current ASHI members by requiring hours upon hours of continuing education. Also, the ASHI Standards of Practice and the ASHI Code of Ethics serve as a performance guideline for home inspectors, and because of this, is generally recognized and accepted by many professional and governmental organizations and institutions.
